The Shattuck Child Care Center was founded in 1969. Racial and economic diversity coupled with affordability and quality will always be our first priority. We were originally located on the grounds of the Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain until 2017 when we relocated to our current space at the First Baptist Church,633 Centre St., Jamaica Plain. Frankly, we loved our original space and considered it our home. However, the State had plans to decommission the building and ultimately took it down. Despite our best efforts, we could not change this outcome.

Is committed to having a balance of socioeconomic diversity reflected in our center’s enrollment. this is supported by having half of our slots filled from level 1 and voucher families and a half from levels 2, 3, and 4. Enrollment is based upon the child’s age, date of application, and income.
